DIABETES WAS KILLING ME
and I was letting it happen
In fact my failure to take seriously how serious my illness was, was really what was killing me. Despite knowing all the side effects and consequences of diabetes I had failed to either take the medication prescribed or change my eating habits in anyway.
As I have Type2 diabetes which means that I have given it to myself through bad diet and a sedentary life style then a change in such would seem prudent to achieving living to the end of my natural span.
I neither have a death wish nor am stupid so why you might ask do I behave in what would seem such an insane way? Well my answer to that is I don't know, I really don't know.
How I got Type2 Diabetes
The easy answer to that is poor diet and sedentary life style. I have overeaten all the wrong food for a number of years and am now paying the price.
How I was diagnosed?
I had a cut on my hand that would not heal and felt tired and sluggish. I did have gestational diabetes with three of my pregnancies and felt the same as I did then. I bought a sugar testing kit from Superdrug and tested my blood sugars two mornings running. They were ridiculously high 24 and 31. Yes really. Now I am in no way doctor friendly and most illnesses I get have got better by the time I have thought yes lets see the vet. However even I went to see my GP fairly quickly and after he had done a urine test he referred me to the diabetic nurse for blood tests and prescribed me Metformin.
After diagnosis
I was constantly sick on Metformin so my GP prescribed me Glycoside. I felt no different on Glycoside than if I were not taking it. I only went to one of my nurses appointments and did not make any further appointments with my GP or the nurse.
Situation now
I am taking no medication and am still eating all the wrong food. I know my blood sugars are high and I feel very unwell. I have tried to change my diet and failed every time. I have read every word about diabetes I can find and have come to some decisions.
I will not take the medication, Why?
After reading every word I could find on diabetes and Type2 in particular it is hard not to come to the conclusion that Type2 diabetes can be cured by yourself without medication.
There is a lot of money to be made and a lot of people with a vested interest in keeping the diabetes machine going. Even here in the UK where medicine is free at the point of delivery.
This blog is about my move from diabetic to a cured healthy body.
See you in the next blog.
